This Technical report provides the actual results of the LNA using the BFP460 from
Infineon Technologies for GPS 1575MHz application.
This Low Noise Amplifier brings a gain of 11.9dB at the frequency of 1575MHz with a
noise figure of 0.95dB (SMA connectors and PCB losses of 0.2dB removed).
Furthermore, this device provides an unconditional stability from 100MHz up to 10GHz. The
circuit is matched at input and output and presents an input return loss of 11.2dB, and
11.7dB at the output.
At the frequency of 1575MHz, using two tones spacing by 1MHz, the output third-order
intercept point reaches 17.0dBm. Besides we obtain an input -1dB compression point of
-11.4Bm.
